Sathya Sai Mahima Stotram

Verse One

Sadasatsvarupam cidananda kandam
Jagatsambhavasthana samharahetum
Svabhaktecchayamanusam darsayanam
Namamisvaram sadgurum sainatham

 
I salute Lord Sainatha, the great preceptor who is the personification of Truth, Awareness and Bliss. He is the great cause for the creation, sustenance and dissolution of the universe. He has taken the human form to fulfill the aspirations of His devotees. 

 
Verse Two
Bhavadhvantavidvamsamartandamidyam
Manovagatitam munirdhyanagamyam
Jagadvyapakam nirmalam nirgunam tvam
Namamisvaram sadgurum sainatham 

 
I salute Lord Sainatha, the great preceptor who is the adorable sun destroying the darkness of birth and death. He cannot be known through mind and words. He is meditated upon by the sages. He is omnipresent in the world. He is pure and devoid of attributes.

Verse Three

Bhavambhodimagnarditanam jananam
Svapadasritanam svabhaktipriyanam
Samudhharanartham kalou sambhavantam
Namamisvaram sadgurum sainatham

 
I salute Lord Sainatha, the great preceptor who has manifested Himself in this Kaliyug to uplift the devotees who are troubled being drowned in the ocean of birth and death, and who are restored to His Lotus Feet, and who are devoted to Him.

Verse Four

Sada nimbavrksasya muladhivasat
Sudhastravinam tiktamapyapriyam tam
Tarum kalpavrksadhikam sadhayantam
Namamisvaram sadgurum sainatham

 
I salute Lord Sainatha, the great preceptor, who resides at the base of the neem tree and spreads nectarine joy and who makes that bitter and disliked tree dearer than the wish-fulfilling tree.

Verse Five

Sada kalpavrksasya tasyadhi mule
Bhavadbhavabudhya saparyadisevam
Nrnam kurvatam bhuktimuktipradam tam
Namamisvaram sadgurum sainatham
 
I salute Lord Sainatha, the great preceptor, who grants affluence in this world and also liberation from bondage to those who worship and serve Him under that tree seeking His divine presence.

Verse Six

Anekasrutatarkyalilavilasaih
Samaviskrtesanabhasvatprabhava
Aham bhavahinam prasannatmabhavam
Namamisvaram sadgurum saintham
 
I salute Lord Sainatha, the great preceptor, whose matchless glory founded on His divine prowess glows with lilas, which are unheard of and beyond rational comprehension. He is completely devoid of any sense of ego and exudes infinite inner joy.

Verse Seven

Satam visramaramamevabhiramam
Sada sajjanaih samstutam sannamadbhih
Janamodadam bhaktabhadrapradam tam
Namamisvaram sadgurum sainatham
 
I salute Lord Sainatha, the great preceptor, with the most charming and delightful form. His divine shelter is the resting place that removes the tiresomeness of all good people who adore Him with devotion. He grants joy, auspiciousness and protection to the devotees.

Verse Eight
Ajanmadyamekam param brahma saksat
Svayam sambhavam ramamevavatirnam
Bhavaddarsanatsampunitah prabho ham
Namamisvaram sadgurum sainatham
 
I salute Lord Sainatha, the great preceptor, who is the very embodiment of the highest divine principle 'Brahma' and who knows no birth nor death (He who has no beginning or no end). He has come down to earth by his self-will as the very manifestation of Rama. O Lord, I am completely sanctified by your divine glance.

160: Subrahmanya Bhujanga Stotram

This great stotra was supposed to have been composed by Adi Sankara when he visited the Subrahmanya temple at Thiruchendur (Holy city of sandal) which is in the sea shore. The Acharya it seems became very emotional and the Lord of Thiruchendur personally approved this great stotra. It is also believed that Lord gave darshan to Adi Sankara at Thiruchendur.

Sada balaroopapi vignaadri hantri,
Mahadanthi vakthrapi panchasyamaanya,
Vidheendraadhi mrugya ganesabhidha may,
Vidathaam sriyam kaapi kalyana murthy. 1

Let Him who is called the giver of good things,
Who though forever looks like a small child,
Powders mountains of great obstacles,
Who though having a huge elephants head,
Is much respected by Lord Shiva,
Who is being searched by Gods like Brahma,
And who is called the lord of Ganas,
Bless me with great prosperity.

(The first sloka is a prayer to Lord Ganapathi to help to complete this venture of writing a prayer to Lord Subramanya)

Na janaami sabdham, na janaami cha artham,
Na janami padyam, na janami gadhyam,
Chideka shadaasyaa hrudhi dyothathe may,
Mukhanthissaranthe giraschapi chithram. 2

Though I do not know words,
Nor the meanings of words,
Nor the form of prose or verse,
The six headed one shines in my heart,
And wonder of wonders,
Words flow from my heart without a stop,
And make a pretty picture using words.

Mayurathi roodam Maha vakhya goodam,
Manohari deham, mahaschitha geham,
Mahee deva devam, maha veda bhavam,
Maha deva balam, Bhaje loka palam. 3

I sing the praise of that protector of the world,
Who rides on a peacock,
Who is the meaning of great Vedic sayings,
Who has a very pretty mien,
Who resides in the minds of great ones,
Who is the god of all gods,
Who is the tenor of the Vedas,
And who is the great son of Lord Shiva.

Yada sannidhanaam gatha maanaava may,
Bhavaambhodhi paaram gathaasthe thadaiva,
Ithi vyanjayan Sindhu there ya asthe,
Thameede pavithram Parashakthi puthram. 4

I sing the praise of that pure son of the great Shakthi,
Who sits in the end of all seas and tells,
“Once you come in front of me,
You have crossed the ocean of painful day- to- day life.”

(Lord Subrahmanya has a temple in a place called “Thiruchendur”, which is situated in the beech at the end of India. The waves of the ocean keeping on beating the outer walls of this temple.)

Yadabhdhe stharanga layam yanthi thunga,
Sthadivaa pada sannidhou sevathaam may,
Ithivormepankthirnrunaam darsayantham,
Sadaa bhavaye hruthsaroje guham thaam. 5

Like the waves of the sea, beating on the shore,
Becomes weakened and disappears.
The worries of Him who visits his temple,
Disappears in to small dusts,
And so I make the great Lord Subramanya,
Reside in the lotus of my heart always.

Girou mannivase nara yea dhirooda,
Sthada parvathe sarvadha thedhirooda,
Itheeva broovan gandha sailathi rooda,
Sa devo mudha may sada Shanmukhosthu. 6

“He who climbs to my mountain abode,
Feels that he has climbed the greatest mountain,”
So says the God who lives on the sandal mountain,
And let him offer me perennial protection.

(Lord Subramanya has very many temples built on the mountain top)

Mahaabhodhi theere maha papachore,
Muneendranukoole sugandhakhya shaile,
Guhayaam vasantham swabhasa lasantham,
Janaarthim harantham srayamo guham tham. 7

That Guha, the stealer of all sins in the banks of the ocean,
Who resides in caves of sandal mountain,
For the sake of his sage devotees.,
Who shines because of his own light,
Who kills the sorrows of all people,
Is being sought of as the refuge.

Lasad swarna gehe nrunaam kaamadhohe,
Sumasthoma sanchanna manikya manche,
Samudhyath sahasrarka thulya prakasam,
Sada bhavaye karthikeyam suresam. 8

I always worship that lord of all devas,
Who was looked after by Karthika maidens,
Who fulfills the wishes of all people,
Who is covered by mountains of flowers,
When he sits on his throne of gems and rubies,
In his residence of Gold,
And looks like light of thousands of suns.

Ranadwamsake manjule athyantha sone,
Manohari lavanya peeyusha poorne,
Mana shat padho may bhava klesa thaptha,
Sada modathaam skanda they pada padma. 9

Let my mind which is like a bee,
Burdened with the sorrows of this life,
Hover round thine lotus like feet, Skanda,
Which are adorned by anklets,
Which are of pretty red colour,
Which steal my mind,
And which are full of the nectar of prettiness.

Suvarnaabha divya ambarair basa maanaam,
Kwanath kinkini mekhala shobhamaanaam,
Lasadhema pattena vidhyotha maanaam,
Katim bhavaye skanda thedeepya maanaam. 10

Oh, Skanda, I meditate on your waist,
Which is covered by golden sacred cloth,
Which has a belt with tingling bells,
And which has glistening and glittering belt.

Pulindesa kanya ghanaa bhoga thunga,
Sthanalingana aasaktha kasmeera ragam,
Namasyanyaham tharakare thavora,
Swa bakthavane sarvadhaa sanuragam. 11

Salutations to thee, Of slayer of Tharaka,
When in passionate embrace of the busts,
Of the daughter of the hunter,
Which are very dense and high,
Your chest gets the red colour of the saffron,
And to your devotees dear to you,
It is the sign of your love to them.

Vidhow Knuptha dandaan, swaleela druthaandaan,
Nirasthebha sundaan, dwishath kala dandaan,
Hathedraari shandaan, jagat thrana soundaan,
Sadaa they prachandaan, srayee bahu dandan. 12

Oh Lord Subramanya,
I meditate on your long arms
Which punished Lord Brahma,
Which playfully carried the entire universe,
Which are longer than the trunk of the elephant,
Which are like the bolt of the God of death to your enemies,
Which killed the collection of Asuras,
Which are capable of taking care of the world,
And which are extremely strong.

Sadaa Saradaa shanmugangaa yadisu,
Samudhyantha eva sdithascheth samanthaath,
Sada poorna bimbaa, kalangaischa heena,
Sthadha thwanmukhaanaam bruve skanda samyam.13

If six faces of moon which are full,
And which are without blemish,
Shine together and permanently,
Then Oh, Skanda, They can possibly be told,
To be of some comparison to you.

Sphuran manda hasai sahamsaani chanjal,Kadakshavaleem brunga sangojjwalani,
Sudhasyandhee bimbaadaraneesa soono,
Thavalokaye Shanmukhomburuhaani. 14

Oh son of the Lord, I see thine six lotus like faces,
Shining like a group of swans,
With the rising pretty smiles,
With your side long glances,
Flowing like a bevy of bees,
And thine blood red lips,
With ever flowing nectar.

Visaaleshu karnanthabheer geshwajasram,
Dayasyandeeshu dwadasasweekshaneshu,
Mayeeshat kadaksha sakrud pathithasched,
Bhavethey daya sheela kaa naama hani. 15

Oh Lord, what will you loose by ,
Showering small side glances on me,
By those twelve broad eyes,
Which extend up to your ears,
And which forever rain the nectar of mercy

Sudhangothbhavo may asi jeevethi shadsa,
Japan mantrameeso mudha jigrathe yaan,
Jagad bhaara brudhbhyo jagannatha thebhya,
Kireetojjwalebhyo namo masthakebhya. 16

Oh Lord of the universe,
I salute those six shining crowned heads,
Which are kissed by the Lord Shiva,
With a joyful prayer repeated six times,
That this child who is born out of him,
Should live forever.

Sphurad rathna keyoora haaradhi rama,
Schalath kundala sree lasad ganda bhaga,
Katou peetha vasa, kare charu shakthi,
Purasthan mamasthaam puraresthanuja. 17

Oh Lord who is the son of God who destroyed Tripura.
Who shines with the garlands of rubies and gems,
Who has pretty cheeks, over which the ear studs play,
Who wears yellow silk on his waist.
And who holds the pretty spear,
Be pleased to appear before me.

(It is told that Lord Subrahmanya appeared before Adhi Sankara while he was reciting this sloka.)

Ihayaahi vathsethi hasthou prasarya,
Hyayathya darachchangare mathurangath,
Samuthpathya thatham srayantham kumaram,
Haraslishta gathram bhaje bala moorthim. 18

I salute that child Subrahmanya,
Who rushed from his mother’s lap,
To the embrace of his father,
Parameshwara’s extended arms,
When he lovingly called to him,
“Come, my darling son.”

Kumaresa soono, Guha, skanda, senaa,
Pathe shakthipane mayooradhi rooda,
Pulindathmaja kantha bhaktharthi haarin,
Prabho, tharakare, sada Raksha maam thwam. 19

Oh Kumara, of son of the lord of the universe,
Oh God who dwells in the cave of my heart,
Oh Skanda, Oh chief of the army of devas,
Oh wielder of the holy spear,
Oh God who rides on the peacock chariot,
Oh beloved of the hunter’s daughter,
Oh destroyer of the sins of his devotees,
Oh Lord who is the enemy of Tharakasura,
Please provide protection to me for ever.

Prasanthendriye, nashta samgne, vicheshte,
Kaphod gari vakthre, bhayath kambhi gathre,
Praynayan unmughe, mayyanadhe thadaneem,
Drutham may dayalo bhavagre guha thwam. 20

When all my senses have calmed down,
When I have lost my intelligence,
When I am not capable of any movement,
When my throat is full of phlegm,
When my body is shivering due to fear,
And when my soul is preparing to depart,
Without any one to help me,Oh Lord of mercy, please come fast,
For I want to be in thine presence, Lord Guha.

Kruthanthasya dhootheshu chandeshu kopaa,
Ddaha Chindi bhindeethi maam tharjayadsu,
Mayooram samaruhyamaa bhaireethi thwam,
Pura shakthi panir mama yahi seegram. 21

When the fearsome messengers of the God of death,
Angrily shout, “burn him, tear him in to pieces, cut”,
Please come swiftly riding on the peacock ,
Armed with your holy spear,
And give me consolation, Oh Lord.

Pranamya sakruth padayosthe padhithwa,
Prasadhya prabho prarthane aneka veeram,
Na Vakthum kshmo aham thadaneem krupabdhe,
Nea Karanthakale maagapyupekshaa. 22

I now fall at your feet and salute you,
And pray and salute you several times,
For at that time, I may not have the power to pray,
So, Oh, ocean of mercy. please do not,
Show no indifference at that time of my departure.

Sahasranda bhoktha thwaya soora nama,
Hathastharaka simha vakthrascha daithya,
Mamantha hrudistham mana klesa mekam,
Na hamsi, prabho kim karomi, kwa yami. 23

You killed Soorapadma who ruled
Over Thousands of universes,
You destroyed ogres Tharaka and the Lion faced Asura,
But you are not bothered about the one worry in my mind,
Oh Lord, What should I do, Where shall I go?

Aham sarvadha Dukha baravasanna,
Bhavan dheena bandhusthwadanyam nay ache,
Bhavat bakthi rodham, sadha knuptha baadham,
Mamadhim drutham nasayo umasutha thwam. 24

Since I am always drowned in sorrows,
And you being the friend of all those who are helpless,
I would not like to request any other.
Oh son of Uma, destroy my deep set sorrows,
Which are always troubling me,
And interfere in my devotion to you.

Apasmara, kushta, kshayarsa prameha,
Jwaronmadhagulmaadhi rogo mahantha,
Pisachascha sarve bhavath pathra bhootheem,
Vilokya kshanaa tharakare dravanthe. 25

Epilepsy, leprosy, tuberclosis,
Consumption, diabetes, fever, madness,
Venereal diseases which are sickness great,
And the evil spirits that trouble one,
Run away within a second,
On seeing the leaf with thine holy ash,
Oh enemy of Tharaka.

Drusi skanda murthy sruthou skanda keerthir,
Mukhe may pavithram, sada thacharithram,
Kare thasya kruthyam, vapusthasya bruthyam,
Guhe santhu leena mamaa sesha bhavaa. 26

Let my eye always see the holy form of Skanda,
Let my ears hear the holy story of Skandha,
Let my mouth always tell the pure sacred story of Skanda,
Let my hand be engaged in the works of Skanda,
Let my body be always servant of Skanda,
And let all my actions be devoted to Skanda.

Muneenamuthaho nrunaam bhakthi bhaja,
Mabeeshtapradhaa santhi sarvathra deva,
Nrunamanthya janam api swartha dane,
Guha deva manyam na jane na jane. 27

For all the great sages and all great devotees,
There are all gods ready to satisfy their wishes,
But I do not know any God except Lord Subramanya,
Who satisfies the wishes to the greatly down trodden,
I do not know, I do not know.

Kalthram suthaa bandhu vargaa pasurvaa,
Nari vaadha naaree gruhe yea madheeya,
Yajantho namantha sthuvantho bhavantham,
Smaranthascha they santhu sarva kumara. 28

Let my wife, my children, my relatives, my animals,
Not only that, all the gents and ladies of my house,
Worship, salute sing thine praise, and meditate on thee,
For always, Oh my god Kumara.

Mruga pakshino damsaka ye cha dushtaa,
Sthadha vyadhayo bhadahakaa ye madange,
Bhavaschakthi theeshnagra binna sudhoore,
Vinasyanthu they choornitha krouncha saila. 29

Oh lord who powdered the Krouncha mountain,
Please use your holy spear with sharp point,
To break and destroy those Animals,
Birds, insects and diseases,
That cause harm to my body.

Janithri pithaa cha swaputhra aparadham,
Sahethe na kim deva senathinadha,
Aham cha athi balo, Bhavan loka thatha,
Kshmaswaparadham samastham mahesa. 30

Oh God who is the chief of the army of devas,
Would not a father pardon the mistakes of the son.
Since I am a small child and you are the father of the world,
Please pardon all my omissions and commissions.

Nama kekine sakthaye chaapi thubhyam,
Nama chaga thubhyam, nama kukkudaya,
Nama sindhave sindhu desaya thubhyam,
Nama skanda murthe, punasthe namosthu. 31

Salutations to the peacock,
Salutations to your holy spear,
Salutations to the sheep,
Salutations to the rooster,
Salutations to the ocean,
Salutations to the temple by the sea side,
Salutations to Skanda,
Again and again.

(Peacock- Is his vahana and symbol of Vedas, Holy spear-Vel is his weapon and the Goddess Parvathi herself , Sheep-Is animal protected by him and Symbol of Maya, Rooster- Sits on his flag and is symbol of ego, Ocean-It is where his temple is and is the symbol of happiness.)

Jayananda bhuman jyapaara dhaman,
Jayamogha keerthe, jayananda murthe,
Jayananda sindho jayasesha bandho,
Jaya thwam sada mukthi danesa soono. 32

Victory to the source of happiness,
Victory to thy limitless light,
Victory to thine boundless fame,
Victory to the personification of happiness,
Victory to the sea of bliss,
Victory to the friend of all,
Victory always to you,
Who is the son of the God,
Who grants salvation.

Phalasruthi

Bhunjangakhya vruthena knuptham sthavam ya,
Padeth bhakthi yuktho guham sampranamya,
SA puthraan kalathram dhanam deergam ayur,
Llabeth skanda sayujyamanthe nara sa.

Results which can be obtained

He who worships daily with devotion the great Guha,
By reading these poems written in Bhujanga style,
Would be blessed with good sons, wife, wealth, long life,
And would attain the eternal bliss with Skanda.

But I am falling down from it fast and so,

Sri Annapurna Ashtakam is written by Adi Shankaracharya to praise and invoke the grace of Mother Goddess Annapurneswari. Mother Goddess Annapurneswari is the presiding deity at Banaras or Varanasi. 147: Aditya Hridayam Stotram

Aditya Hridayam Mantra – Meaning

Aditya hrudayam is a Stotra by Sage Agastya to Lord Sri Rama at the battle field between Ravana and Rama. The great Cosmic Sage Agastya dictates this hymns of Sun God to Sri Rama to ensure Victory to him. Thus forms part of the yuddha Kanda (Canto 107) of Ramayana by Sage Valmiki said to be written around twenty thousand years ago.

Aditya hrudayam contains the innovative hymns with many secrets and hidden meanings. The Jnana, Jnata, and Jneyam is completed as Sage Agastya is the Jnana and the Lord Rama Jnata and the presiding deity Jneyam is Sun in the heart. Thus the Triputi is completed. Hence it has come to be known as Aditya hrudayam.

Further Sage Agastya has stated that success is assured for all those who recite these Sloka thrice a day.

Rama went to exile at the behest of his father King Dasaradha. In the forest Ravana adducted Sita the wife of Rama who waged a righteous war against Ravana to bring back his wife Sita from the clutches of Rakshasa Ravana. In this Context he fought the battle against Ravana. Sage Agastya came there at that time to initiate this Aditya hrudayam to Sri Rama in the irreconceivable situation in the battle for his victory.

It is said that Consciousness in the man and in the cosmos Sun is the same. Absolute consciousness is being understood only with the help of speech. These mystic words are interwoven in these Slokas. The Slokas third to twenty four Synchronises with the twenty four letters of Gayatri Mantra.

In Aditya hrudayam there are thirty Slokas in total. In this the first and second sloka depicts the arrival of sage Agastya to Sri Rama. The third stated the greatness of the Stotra, the fourth sloka explained about happiness, liberation and knowledge. The fifth will remove the related sins and with hold sorrows. From Sixth to fifteenth the description pertains to self effulgence and impresses that one pervading out side and inside is same. From Sixteenth to twentieth slokas are very important for mantra Japa. Here cosmic greatness of Sun God Surya as the internal Caitanya in us is high lighted. Further the creator is one and not two is impressed. The human body consists Sapta Dhatu’s and in this dwells, only paramatma.

The Slokas from Twenty to twenty four are Mantra Slokas extolling Sun God. From twenty fifth to thirtieth the method of recital by Sri Rama and invoking God to bless him with the requisite strength for the victory in the battle field is stated.

Savita (Surya) is the God for Gayatri Mantra.

MEANING: This holy hymn dedicated to the Sun deity will result in destroying all enemies and bring you victory and never ending supreme bliss.

MEANING: This hymn is supreme and is a guarantee of complete prosperity and is the destroyer of sin, anxiety, anguish and is the bestower of longevity.

MEANING:  Worship the One, possessed of rays when he has completely risen, held in reverence by the devas and asuras, and who is the Lord of the universe by whose efflugence all else brighten.

MEANING:  He indeed represent the totality of all celestial beings. He is self-luminous and sustains all with his rays. He nourishes and energizes the inhabitants of all the worlds and the race of Devas and Asuras.

MEANING: He is Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Skands, Prajapati. He is also Mahendra, kubera, kala, yama, soma and varuna.

MEANING:  He is the pitrs, vasus, sadhyas, aswini devas, maruts, manu, vayu, agni, prana and, being the source of all energy and light, is the maker of all the six seasons.

MEANING:  He is the son of Aditi, creator of the universe, inspirer of action, transverser of the heavens. He is the sustainer, illumination of all directions, the golden hued brilliance and is the maker of the day.

MEANING: He is the primordial being manifesting as the Trinity. He ushers in the Day and is the teacher (of Hiranyagarbha), the fire-wombed, the son of Aditi, and has a vast and supreme felicity.

MEANING:  He is the remover of intellectual dull-headedness. He is the Lord of the firmament, dispeller of darkness. Master of all the vedas, he is a friend of the waters and causes rain. HE has crossed the vindya range and sports in the Brahma Nadi.

MEANING:  He, whose form is circular and is colored yellow, is intensely absorbed and inflicts death. He is the destroyer of all and is the Omniscient one being exceedingly energetic sustains the universe and all action.

Nakshatra grahataaraanaam adhipo vishva bhaavanah .
Tejasaamapi tejasvii dvaadashaatman namostute .. 15

MEANING: He is the lord of stars, planets and all constellations. He is the origin of everything in the universe and is the cause of the lustre of even the brilliant ones. Salutations to Thee who is the One being manifest in the twelve forms of the Sun.

Namah puurvaaya giraye pashchimaayaadraye namah .
Jyotirganaanaam pataye dinadhipataye namah .. 16

MEANING:  Salutations to the Eastern and western mountain, Salutations to the Lord of the stellar bodies and the Lord of the Day.

Jayaaya jayabhadraaya haryashvaaya namo namah .
Namo namah sahasraa.nsha aadityaaya namo namah .. 17

MEANING:  Salutations to the One who ordains victory and the prosperity that follows. Salutations to the one possessed of yellow steeds and to the thousand rayed Lord, and to Aditya.

Namah ugraaya viiraaya saarangaaya namo namah .
Namah padma prabodhaaya maartandaaya namo namah .. 18

MEANING: Salutations to the Terrible one, the hero, the one that travels fast. Salutations to the one whose emergence makes the lotus blossom and to the fierce and omnipotent one.

Brahmeshaana achyuteshaaya suuryaayaadityavarchase .
Bhaasvate sarvabhakshaaya raudraaya vapushhe namah .. 19

MEANING:  Salutations to the Lord of Brahma, shiva and Achyuta, salutations to the powerful and to the effulgence in the Sun that is both the illuminator and devourer of all and is of a form that is fierce like Rudra.

Tamoghnaaya himagnaaya shatrughnaaya amitaatmane .
Kritaghnahanaaya devaaya jyotishhaam pataye namah .. 20

MEANING:  Salutations to he transcendental atman that dispels darkness, drives away all fear, and destroys all foes. Salutations also to the annihilator of the ungrateful and to the Lord of all the stellar bodies.

Tapta chaamiika raabhaaya haraye vishvakarmane .
Namastamo.abhinighnaaya ruchaye lokasaakshine .. 21

MEANING: Salutations to the Lord shining like molten gold, to the transcendental fire, the fire of supreme knowledge, the architect of the universe, destroyer of darkness and salutations again to the effulgence that is the Cosmic witness.

Naashayatyeshha vai bhuutam tadeva srijati prabhuuH .
Paayatyeshha tapatyeshha varshhatyeshha gabhastibhih .. 22

MEANING: Salutations to the Lord who destroys everything and creates them again. Salutations to Him who by His rays consumes the waters, heats them up and sends them down as rain.

Eshha supteshhu jaagarti bhuuteshhu parinishhthitah .
Eshha evaagnihotramcha phalam chaivaagnihotrinaamh .. 23

MEANING:  Salutations to the Lord who abides in the heart of all beings keeping awake when they are asleep. He is both the sacrificial fire and the fruit enjoyed by the worshippers.

Vedaashcha kratavashchaiva kratuunaam phalameva cha .
Yaani krityaani lokeshhu sarva eshha ravih prabhuh .. 24

MEANING: The Sun is verily the Lord of all action in this universe. He is verily the vedas, the sacrifices mentioned in them and the fruits obtained by performing the sacrifices.

Enamaapatsu krichchhreshhu kaantaareshhu bhayeshhu cha.
kiirttayanh purushhah kashchin naavasiidati raaghava .. 25

MEANING: Raghava, one who recites this hymn in times of danger, during an affliction or when lost in the wilderness and having fear, he will not lose heart (and become brave).

Puujayasvainamekaagro devadevam jagathpatimh.
Etat.h trigunitam japtvaa yuddheshhu vijayishhyasi .. 26

MEANING: Raghava, worship this Lord of all Gods and the Universe with one-pointed devotion. Recite this hymn thrice and you will win this battle.

Nasminkshane mahaabaaho raavanam tvam vadhishhyasi.
Evamuktavaa tadaa.agastyo jagaamh cha yathaagatamh .. 27

MEANING: O mighty armed one, you shall truimph over Ravana this very moment. Having spoken this, Agastya returned his original place. Raghava became free from worry after hearing this.

Etachchhritvaa mahaatejaa nashhtashoko abhavattadaa.
Dhaarayaamaasa supriito raaghavah prayataatmavaanh .. 28

MEANING: He was greatly pleased and became brave and energetic.

Aaadityam prekshya japtvaa tu param harshhamavaaptavaanh.
Triraachamya shuchirbhuutvaa dhanuraadaaya viiryavaanh .. 29

MEANING: Gazing at the sun with devotion, He recited this hymn thrice and experienced bliss.

Rraavanam prekshya hrushhtaatmaa yuddhaaya samupaagamath.
Sarva yatnena mahataa vadhe tasya dhritoabhavath .. 30

MEANING: Purifying Himself by sipping water thrice, He took up His bow with His mighty arms. Seeing Ravana coming to fight, He put forth all his effort with a determination to destroy Ravana.

Atha ravi ravadanam nirikshyam raama
Muditamanaah paramam prahrishhyamaanah.
Nishicharapatisa nkshayam viditvaa
Suragan amadhyagato vachastvareti .. 31

MEANING:  Then knowing that the destruction of the lord of prowlers at night (Ravana) was near, Aditya, who was at the center of the assembly of the Gods, looked at Rama and exclaimed ‘Hurry up’ with great delight. Purifying Himself by sipping water thrice, He took up His bow with His mighty arms. Seeing Ravana coming to fight, He put forth all his effort with a determination to destroy Ravana.
