(1) AGNIRVRITRANI JANGHANAD |

Agni(fire) destroys the enemies (vritras). Agni destroys darkness by creating light. We have five fundamental enemies - pleasure instincts, anger, greed, attachment and ego. The fire of knowledge is capable of destroying these enemies. Ignorance (darkness) can be destroyed by knowledge of self.

Agni is the God,which leads and guides us. Agni destroys darkness and makes it easier for us to tread on the path towards knowledge. Therefore Agni creates light and leads us towards our goal.

Agni blesses us with wealth. Agni gives us heat and energy so that we can fulfill all our duties. In return it yields good results i.e. wealth. Therefore it is a truth that Agni is the giver of wealth.

O Agni, you are great and are giver of happiness. Agni is useful to us in many a ways. As a result we get happiness. In this way Agni is giver of happiness and therefore is considered noble.

Agni is the protector of the people, is the destroyer of demons. Agni is useful in constructive activities. Agni is not only the protector but is also the destroyer. . The righteous usage of Agni can lead to good fruits but the abuse of Agni shall lead to sheer destruction and ruin.

Agni is the master of noble valiance and fortune Agni is the one, which bestows all material happiness, destroys all darkness and is the ultimate source of energy. It is used in human welfare and allied constructive activities. It increases courage and bestows wealth, health and comfort.

Perform the Religious sacrifice with the right means, may it purify everything. During the yagya, ghee, aromatic herbs, shrubs are offered to the fire. As a result the entire atmosphere becomes clean and pollution free. Fire can help in making the atmosphere devoid of pollution. Therefore we should use the right things to purify the atmosphere, during the yagya.

Do not speak harsh words. We should always be soft spoken because people always like people who are soft spoken. No body ever likes a person who speaks harsh words and hurts other. Our words should exhibit our good thoughts.

Cleanliness can keep one away from ailments and diseases. The people who keep themselves and their surroundings clean seldom fall sick. We should never forget cleanliness is next to Godliness. For proper growth and development, a clean mind and body are of utmost importance

A person who does not fulfill the vows cannot accomplish anything. The person who does not have a firm conviction to accomplish the resolution is definitely a failure. A person who does not strive with mind, heart and body does not ever achieve anything. That is why one should become a karma yogi and work constantly although he may or may not get the benefits. Eventually, hard work undoubtedly gets paid off.

The scholar is successful in vanquishing all his enemies. The scholar has a solution for every problem and crisis, may it be disease or an external enemy. Because he is endowed with wit and grit he surmounts all his problems successfully. He controls the fickleness of the mind by reciting mantras and eventually stabilizes the mind. He gives the right advice at the right time to the right people. In this way we should all strive to acquire as much knowledge possible because on attainment of total knowledge we shall be able to find a solution to all our problems.
 
(14) SUKRITYA MAHANA ABHYAVARDHAYAHA |

You become noble because of your good deeds.

 
By engaging in good deeds he or she becomes famous and gets honour and respect in society. If the good deeds result in the welfare of society then such a person is honoured and is respected, undoubtedly.
 
(15) VICHARSHANIHI HITAHA SA CHATETI |

A scholar becomes a benefactor and gives knowledge. When a scholar is donating knowledge the ultimate aim of his knowledge is welfare of one and all. Because of knowledge, the darkness of ignorance ceases and we tread on the path of progress. We should imbibe all the knowledge and the merits from the scholars and should engage in activities that result in the welfare one and all.

 
(16) RATNADHAHA VARYANI DAYATE |

A person who wears gems or precious stones becomes wealthy. People who wear precious stones and gems acquire a lot of wealth. During times of crisis, wealth is of utmost importance., Precious stones and gems are worn to improve ones health. We should, therefore always save for contingencies, otherwise we shall have to beg from others.
 
(17) MA TE RASASYA MATSAT DWAYAWINAHA |

Those people do not dwell in happiness whose deeds and thoughts are not similar. A person who is a hypocrite never lives in happiness. Therefore we should be beware of hypocrisy and try to bridge the gap between thoughts and action i.e. we should perform deeds according to our thoughts.
 
(18) ATAPTATTURNA TADAMO ASHNUTE |

No one can over achieve anything without perseverance. When a human being engages in action and hard work until he does not achieve his goal, he undergoes metamorphosis and positive change. In this manner he makes himself all the more disciplined, patient and diligent. As a result of his diligence he gets good benefits such as total peace, happiness and Contention.

(19) YAHA MAM DADATI SA VATA |
 
The giver of food protects one and all. Donation of food leads to protection of others. That is why it is referred to as the noblest form of donation. By donating food one is blessed with limitless virtues. Similarly scholars who donate and impart knowledge, do so for the welfare of all. By knowledge, one become judicious and engages in earning a livelihood for him. Donation of knowledge enhances knowledge and this is a noble form of donation..

 
(20) ANNAM ADANTAM AHAM ANNAM ADMI |

He who does not donate food, I (God) destroy his food. We should never store food more than what is required. If we do so the gods consider us selfish and destroy all the food. That is why we should always donate food whenever possible. Similarly if a scholar does not impart education and knowledge, the knowledge automatically stagnates and ceases. Therefore the scholars should donate knowledge time to time. By doing so their ego ceases to exist.
 
(21) MAYAVINO MAMIRE ASYA MAYAYA |

By imbibing knowledge the greatest of the ignorant can become noble and knowledgeable. By acquiring knowledge the darkness of ignorance is destroyed. As a result the wicked also become compassionate renounce their wickedness, their attachment and become noble. The flame of knowledge leads a person to the path of progress.

Attain success and tread on the path of progress to attain liberation. Humans are incessantly engaged in work so that they can liberate themselves from the bondages of material life. All the spiritual knowledge given by the great scholars help us in our endeavors to liberate ourselves. We tread on the path of progress by utilizing the means to attain liberation. This as a result gives us happiness and joy.

The night is propitious because it gives all peace and relaxation. The night helps us to relax so that we become fresh and energetic to perform the next day's duties. In this way the night is beneficial to one and all.

The intellect of the Agni God is pure and auspicious for all. The person who strives selflessly for society automatically is respected and honoured. That is why we should engage in those deeds by which the entire society benefits. By doing so our mind and heart shall become pure and propitious. The ultimate aim of Agni is social welfare and the ultimate aim of every human being should be the same.

O Gods! May I never speak anything harsh. We should always abstain from inauspicious and harsh words that inflict pain. Pain inflicted can not be taken back. Physical injury is sooner forgotten than insults and harsh words. The effect of good words is always good and in the long run it reaps good benefits.

Every person should strive in order to have his skills and capabilities because the person who does so can only become the master. We can acquire maximum knowledge by self-study and by reading sublime literature. When we become capable in all ways we can become masters and as a result we shall be respected wherever we go.

The yagya enlightens the mind.
During the Yagya the samaveda is recited as a result of which the mind becomes stable and calm. Simultaneously the atmosphere also becomes pure and devoid of pollution. Consequently the atmosphere and the samagana enlighten the mind and facilitate spiritual progress.

Soma infuses in us the enthusiasm to win.
 
The Vedas speak of the soma in some places. Some scholar believer it is synonymous to `Bhang'. It is mentioned that Lord Indra's favourite drink is the Soma Rasa.

 
Soma infuses energy in each and every part of the body and improves blood circulation. As a result the body becomes energetic. It ushers enthusiasm and helps us to accomplish all our duties tirelessly.

The Gods do not favour the lazy and indolent. 
 
The person who is lazy can never become a scholar. Laziness erodes a person's enthusiasm and energy. As a result the person loses all opportunities and finally becomes dejected and frustrated. Moreover he stops believing in the fact that he can ever succeed.

The Gods favour the diligent and industrious. 

 
One cannot achieve anything in life without engaging in action. A person who is diligent and consistently engaged in good actions shall attain all his goals and become successful in all his pursuits. So it is in the best interest to take part in the Karma Yoga and fulfill it to the best of ones abilities.

 
(33) MA KIM BRAHMADWISHAM VANAHA |

Do not stay in the company of those who abhor knowledge. The people who abhor knowledge always dwell in ignorance. Good company can make a man and bad company can ruin a man. During the rains, the drop of water falls in and loses its existence and on the contrary the drop of water falls in conch and assumes the form of a pearl. That is why people who desire knowledge should refrain from people who believe that ignorance is bliss.

One should not listen to anything bad. One should not listen and speak anything bad. By listening to bad things and contemplating on them, the person can engage in bad deeds. That is why one should refrain from listening to anything that is bad and negative.

Always engage in all good deeds. One shall reap fruits on basic if the actions performed. Good deeds shall undoubtedly sooner or later fetch good fruits. People who engage in good deeds are always praised and respected. People who do so shall are blessed with all the desired things. Therefore it is imperative that one should thoroughly abstain from bad actions.

You are always engaged in a war. Life is full of strife and turmoil. It is in therefore in the best interest of one and all to take part in the war without desiring anything. A life devoid of strife is a life devoid of happiness and realization. One realizes the significance of happiness only after pain. Therefore our aim should be to be take part in war and strive selflessly to be victorious.

After realizing the truth do not become indolent. The person who strives and attain the most divine form of knowledge should never while away his time. He should engage in performing great deeds. Knowledge leads to light and light leads us on the path of success and progress. We should therefore attain knowledge of the self and think of the welfare of others. Lethargy leads to failure therefore one should abhor it vehemently.

The scholar achieves the ultimate goal on the basis of his abilities and its proper usage. Knowledge destroys ignorance. The scholar assimilates all the means required to fulfill a particular task on basis of his intellect and eventually becomes successful in achieving it. Because of this he becomes noble and great.

Fire enkindles fire . It is fire that eliminates and destroys darkness. One karmayogi can be successful in creating another karmagyogi. In this way one is successful in enlightening the other. That is the reason why the company of scholars is preferred and is considered very auspicious. Knowledge perpetrates knowledge and ignorance perpetrates ignorance.
 
That is why we should ourselves engage in good deeds and encourage others to engage in the same.

 
(41) RITAVRIDHO RITSPRISHAO BRIHANTAM KRATUM RITEN ASHATHE |

The person who is truthful does all their deeds by treading on the righteous path. Truth is the instrument to engage in good deeds. The truthful is always ready to do good work. The greatness of truth is indecipherable, that is why it is mightier than anything in this world.

Improve your speech and speak only the truth. One should always speak softly and distinctly. Audience is always attracted towards those who are fluent and speak good things.

Make us capable enough to engage in good actions. A person who is constantly engaged in good actions is never plagued by the dilemma of good and bad thoughts. By incessantly engaging in such actions he become capable and adroit in his work. Incessant practice makes a man perfect and his deeds reap rich dividends.

If a scholar is radiant i.e. an expert then he is respectable.

 
A distinguished person achieves name and fame only because of his adroitness and assiduity. People worship such noble souls because of their merits and qualities. That is why such scholars hold a respectable and honorable position in society.

The radiance of knowledge provides everything. Similarly the greatness of great deeds also is all-pervasive.

The greatness of the heroic deeds performed by the valiant and courageous spread everywhere. One becomes successful by engaging in noble deeds. As a result such a person also becomes prosperous and affluent. Such a person who attains knowledge does not need amenities of comforts, on the contrary he become mentally and physically strong. The courageous augments their success by their hard work performed selflessly and as a result reap benefits.

Inactivity is the root cause of failure. The ultimate aim of human life is incessant fulfillment of one's duties so that it accrues in the welfare of all.

Those kings who do not conspire against each other they sit amongst their courtiers in the court held by 1000 strong and firm pillars.

 
Noble people never engage in animosity. People who do so end up ruined and in misery. They are always devoid of stability, peace and success. If all people work shoulder to shoulder by renouncing the credit altogether, such a society is bound to prosper and grow. People who rise above and abhor rebellion pave the way for national welfare.

We learn from this shloka that, anyone who is assiduous and with a firm conviction can accomplish the desired task and become successful. A person who lacks conviction and perseverance is always unfortunate.

Let us prostrate before the capable. The person who is blessed with innumerable capabilities is respected and honoured. We should become diligent so that we achieve all our desired goals. We can become successful only on the basis of our capabilities and oriented efforts.

The person who practices restraint killed a demon named Vala. It is said that Indra kills an enemy in the same way, the restrained killed the demon Vala.

 
The one who controls his senses suppresses the five evils, sexual pleasure, anger, greed, attachment and ego and practices restraint, he conquers all his enemies easily.

The knowledgeable defeats all, in the race to attain godship.

 
If one has to become successful it is imperative that we remove all the hurdles and obstacles that are in forms of impediments or hindrances. We should conquer fear of struggle and turmoil. By doing so only can the hindrances be cleared.

The scholar who consistently engages in action vanquishes all his enemies is honoured and respected. We should therefore acquire maximum knowledge so that we can suppress the enemies and be victorious in all our pursuits.

Indra and Agni are the givers of happiness. The importance of water and fire is known to all of us. Life itself is impossible without these elements. We should therefore imbibe the qualities of water and fire and become successful..

The knowledgeable mould the ignorant. He attains knowledge of the self who controls all his senses.. 
 
Therefore one should engage in controlling and orienting the senses properly so that one become intelligent.

The person who is in the process of purifying himself practices Yama and Niyama regularly. The person who desires knowledge should practice restraint and discipline because by doing so only, can he surmount all the hindrances

They are noble alike the gods who engage in all types of work. He who is multi talented does not hesitate to do any type of work. Consequently, because of his diligence he is showered with praises and honour.

The flames of the yagya are pleasing and lovable. When a karmayogi incessantly strives to achieve the goal there is ardent of divine and celestial feelings in the mind which are pleasant and lovable . When we attain our desired goal we experience real happiness.

The valiant who possesses maximum number of good weapons, during the war, only is successful in amassing wealth. Accordingly, the person who possesses noble actions and firm conviction only becomes successful and prosperous. He experiences the real happiness.
